How to Vote

Registered voters who reside in the Hampton-Dumont Community School District have multiple options for casting a ballot.


Election day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024, and the polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Voters can find their polling location by checking the Franklin County Auditor's website or the Iowa Secretary of State’s website.

​A valid ID will be needed in order to vote. If you are not registered to vote, you can complete a registration form and return to the county auditor's office before October 21. You may also register on election day at your polling location.

Registered voters can complete a request form for a mailed absentee ballot from their county auditor ’s office beginning August 27. Mailed ballots will be sent out beginning October 16. The final day to request a mailed ballot is October 21.


In-person absentee voting will be available starting on October 16 at the Franklin County Auditor’s Office, located inside the Franklin County Courthouse at 12 1st Ave. NW, in Hampton. This will be available weekdays until November 4 during regular business hours.

For Butler County residents, absentee ballots can be cast in person at the county election office inside the Butler County Courthouse, 426 6th St., in Allison. This office is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
